Institute of Educational Psychology and School Counseling
The Institute for Educational Psychology and School Counseling is mainly focused on the application of psychology in school education. The goal of the Institute is to train qualified teachers for mental health education and instructional psychology. As an emerging applied discipline in pedagogy, school counseling is engaged in studies like personality, social, academic, and career development of students. It is also engaged in studies of theories and technologies for providing consulting services for students, parents and teachers. The Institute integrates various fields of educational research including the disciplines of curriculum, research in teaching, educational psychology, psychological counseling, and psychological health education. It aims to explore an effective localized model of mental health education and at the same time offers graduate programs for school counseling and mental health education. It also runs a laboratory of school counseling which offers students support in professional practice.
