Honorable Professors

Gregery Misiaszek

Dr. Greg Misiaszek is a Freirean and a critical comparative educator. Dr. Misiaszek’s most current research is on the intersections between Global Citizenship Education (GCE) and environmental pedagogies, including Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), as they coincide and conflict with various spheres of citizenship (from local to planetary) and citizenship education models. His comparative ecopedagogical research has focused on how socio-environmental connections are taught, not taught, or mis-taught, and the local/global political reasons why. Before working at BNU, he worked for nearly 20 years at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Davis School of Gerontology helping to develop educational programs and managing transformative programs which focused on ending various types of social injustices including ageism, elder abuse, and disabilities discrimination (including fall prevention).
