Institute of Higher Education
The Institute for Higher Education, founded in the 1980s, is a center for teaching and research related to higher education administration. The Institute, together with the Beijing Normal University and the Beijing Municipal Government, has established the Capital Institute for Higher Education. Over the past few years, the Institute has excelled in five fields including policy analysis of higher education; quality assurance and evaluation of higher education; college administration and development; college faculty professional development; and college student affairs administration and gained high reputation in China and beyond. There are 12 full-time faculty members, including three professors and five associate professors. All the faculty members have obtained doctoral degrees and have experiences of studying abroad as visiting scholars. The director of the Institute is Professor Zhong Binglin, president of BNU. The Institute is engaged in research of strategic and high profile problems in higher education reform and development in China and is undertaking several important national and provincial projects.
