Institute of Special Education
The predecessor of the Institute of Special Education is the research center for Special Education (also known as Special Education Teaching and Research Section), that was established in 1980. In 1986, it began to offer undergraduate program. In 1993 and 2005, master’s and doctoral programs were offered in succession. In 2008, it was recognized by the Ministry of Education as one of the premiere disciplines, that trains professionals and experts in special education and high-level academic researchers. At present, there are 8 professors and associate professors and most of them have obtained doctorate or master’s degrees and have experiences of studying abroad. The field of special education involves physiology, psychology, education, rehabilitation of children with special needs. So far, the Institute has played a role in the formulation of such important laws and regulations as “Educational Regulations for the Disabled”, “Curriculum Reform Project for Special Education Schools” etc. and has directed almost 30 projects and has published various works including teaching materials and research papers.
