On November 16, 2015, Ms. Anita LEHIKOINEN, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) of Finland led a delegation to visit Beijing Normal University (BNU). Representatives from the Joint Laboratory for Mobile Learning, Ministry of Education—China Mobile Communications Corporation, School of Psychology, College of Nuclear Science and Technology of BNU, etc. received the delegation. The delegation listened to presentations by the Joint Laboratory on basic education informationization and digital learning resources and its original outcomes such as Learning Cell.

On the theme of Happy Learning, Lecturer LI Baoping gave an overview of the scientific outcomes on one-on-one learning environment on behalf of the Joint Laboratory and showed some fabulous authentic pictures taken in trial one-to-one table-PC-based classrooms. She also designed two Chinese language learning activities for the delegates to get a better understanding of the Chinese culture and the advantages of one-on-one classrooms on promoting individualized learning and happy learning.

With the help of Lecturer LI Baoping and Dr. XIN Kaili, the delegates got a chance to experience mobile learning. They chose materials that were of interests to them through vclass, learned autonomously and uploaded learning audios.

This meeting was a good opportunity to show the Joint Laboratory’s scientific outcomes and it paved the way for the Joint Laboratory to build up scientific collaboration with domestic and international colleagues in the field of mobile learning in the future.
