Prof. Ronghuai Huang, Co-Dean of the Smart Learning Institute at Beijing Normal University and UNESCO Chair on Artificial Intelligence in Education, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the international Winter Program “China: An Introduction to Its Digital Transformation (2nd Edition)”, organized by the Center for Research and Innovation in Information Technologies (INFOTEC), Mexico.

“China: An Introduction to Its Digital Transformation (2nd Edition)”
The program focuses on China’s pathways and practices in digital transformation, providing international participants with a comprehensive understanding of China’s developments in information technology, digital economy, and artificial intelligence from technological, legal, industrial, and educational perspectives. Bringing together scholars from Latin America and China, the program reflects a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and capacity building for Global South countries through cross-regional and interdisciplinary collaboration.
As a keynote speaker, Prof. Huang delivered a presentation on March 20, Beijing Time, addressing key issues related to artificial intelligence and digital transformation in education. He also engaged in interactive discussions with students and scholars from Latin America, fostering dialogue and mutual learning across regions.
In his keynote, Prof. Huang elaborated on the theoretical frameworks and practical pathways of educational transformation in the intelligent era. He highlighted China’s experiences in advancing digital education, developing smart learning environments, and leveraging AI to promote educational equity and quality. In particular, he discussed how these approaches could offer valuable insights for Global South countries facing challenges in balancing scale, quality, and personalization in education systems. The session also demonstrated innovative approaches to academic communication through the integration of digital human (AI avatar) presentations and live interaction.

INFOTEC, a key public research and training institution under the Mexican government, is dedicated to advancing information technology development, digital transformation, and international cooperation, and plays an active role in promoting digital capacity building across Latin America and the Global South.
Prof. Huang’s participation further strengthens Beijing Normal University’s international engagement in smart education and AI in education, while contributing to deeper collaboration and knowledge exchange between China and Latin America in the context of digital transformation.
