As China-Africa relations continue to deepen, we are delighted to share an important milestone in education cooperation. In September 2024, Beijing Normal University officially established the China-Africa Teacher Education Center (CATEC), with the mission of empowering teachers and learners across China and Africa.
CATEC serves as a dedicated platform for strengthening cooperation in teacher education through policy dialogue, capacity building, and knowledge exchange, contributing to the sustainable development of teacher education systems on both sides.
Today, we are pleased to present CATEC’s first official newsletter. This inaugural issue revisits the founding of the center, outlines its vision, reflects on the historical roots and major initiatives of China-Africa educational cooperation, share insights from the Pan-African Conference on Teacher Education (PACTED 2025) and highlights the key Activities Carried Out by CATEC throughout 2025.
We invite you to read the CATEC newsletter below and join us in this growing journey of China-Africa collaboration in teacher education.
