On December 2, 2015, a delegation of Artevelde University College Ghent visited the Faculty of Education. The delegation was made up of Program Manager for Intercultural Postgraduate Teacher Training Sara Zolfaghari, Program Manager for Bachelor of Business Management Lutgart Stuyver, International Relations and Communications Officer Jan Zuliani and Chief Representative of China Platform of Ghent University of Belgium ZHANG Chi. The delegation was warmly received by Prof. BAO Chuanyou, Dr. YUAN Li, Director WU Haitao and Coordinator SU Shana.

       Director WU expressed welcome to the Belgium delegation and gave a brief introduction of FOE. Lutgart Stuyver and Sara Zolfaghari gave an overview of Artevelde University College Ghent and their Intercultural Postgraduate Teacher Training Program. Prof. BAO Chuanyou briefly introduced the training programs FOE has, i.e., National Training Center for Primary School Principals, North China Training Center for Educational Administrator, Training Center for School Principals and Academy of Educators. Dr. YUAN Li talked about the Institute of Teacher Education and the three models the institute has developed with other institutions for international academic exchange.

Both sides explored the possibility of opportunities for student exchange, staff mobility and research collaboration. Some of the discussed issues included the length and responsibilities of student/faculty exchange, eligible criteria of participants, accommodation issues, etc. Both sides had a very productive conversation and decided to move on for further and more detailed plan of collaboration in the near future.
