Professor MA Liwen join the 8th World Congress of the International Drama/Theatre and Education Association Published:2013-07-15 15:46:47  Views:10

        Maliwen, the vice professor of the Institute Educational Psychology and Counseling, Faculty of Education, attended the 8th World Congress of the International Drama/Theatre and Education Association taken placed in Paris, in July,8-13, 2013 with the theme “From one world to another: arts education for tomorrow”. Professor Ma, who is the only one came from the mainland, gave the presentation in the Congress: A Practical Exploration of Drama-in-Education Moral Education in a Primary School in China. The research stays ahead of the field of DIE in China mainland.

 

        This Congress brought together over 400 drama and theatre teachers, artists, researchers, practitioners and institutions from the 80 countries across the globe.

There were 5 key themes: Has arts education become a global issue? How can Drama/Theatre and Education practices become transformative learning processes?  An embodied approach: establishing a dialogue between neuro-science and arts education. Languages in Drama/Theatre and Education highlighting diversity or blending cultures?  Creating and writing for and with young audiences: place and recognition. Everyone was both giver and taker at this Congress, both learner and teacher , we all looked, listened and learned from each other with open hearts and open minds, as well as brought our own individual skills, knowledge and experience to share with each other.

 

        During Congress, professor Ma had communicated with the cooperative partners came from HongKong, Taiwan, USYD(University of Sydney), Warwick University , and University of Dublin Trinity College, and deepening cooperation projects of Drama-in -Education.
