OVERVIEW

UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) is seeking an intern to join the Teacher Professional Development and Networking Unit for a period of six months. The intern will be responsible for various tasks including preparing project documents, participating in event organization, providing translation and interpretation services, developing information for IITE's website, working with UNESCO documentation, liaising with UNESCO Global Networks and IITE's partners, and providing other forms of assistance as needed. The intern will play a critical role in establishing the Chinese version of the online platform for teachers and will be involved in several thematic areas, such as ICT in education for persons with special needs, ICT in primary education, ICT in early childhood education, and ICT in green education.

The overarching objectives of the internship are to provide the intern with an opportunity to develop an understanding of UNESCO's structure, mandate, and main programmes, to gain professional experience that complements their studies, and to develop knowledge and understanding of the functioning and working methods of UNESCO. Specific learning objectives will be discussed with the intern at the beginning of each task assignment throughout the internship.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Age requirement: An applicant must have attained the age of 20 years or above to be eligible for consideration.

2. Academic requirements: A candidate should be presently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent, second university degree or higher), or have completed a Master's degree or PhD (or second degree as defined above) within 12 months prior to the commencement of the internship. 

3. A prospective intern is expected to possess native-level proficiency in Chinese and fluency in English, as well as a strong profile and interest in the field of ICT in education. 

4. Proficiency in Russian or any other official language of the United Nations would be considered a valuable asset.
