Abstract:

With the theme “Towards Ecological Civilisation: Education for Sustainable Rural Development”, this symposium aims to facilitate exchanges from three sub-topics: “Policy in Practice”, “University and Local actions”, and “Youth on the move”.

Researchers, practitioners and youth representatives from China, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia and other Southeast Asian countries will be invited to share their views on the concept of “Education for Sustainable Rural Development”, explore the interconnections of ESD with society, economy and culture, and discuss the role of and challenges faced by youth in promoting sustainable rural development.
