The 11^th Biennial Comparative Education Society of Asia (CESA) Conference was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia from May 10 to 12, 2018. This conference was hosted by CESA, and co-sponsored by the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) and the Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia (PUC). The theme of the conference is Education and Social Progress: Insights from Comparative Perspectives. More than 300 delegates from 25 countries attended the conference this year.

Previous to the conference, FOE Professor Liu Baocun, who is currently serving as President of CESA, made a speech on CESA’ Council on May 10. He reported to directors of the Council on his work in the past two years, and fully discussed with them on how to develop CESA, as well as strengthen communication and cooperation among all members. The council highly recognized Professor Liu’s contribution to the development of CESA, especially his efforts on gaining say for CESA on World Council of Comparative Education Societies (WCCES). Given his outstanding achievements, the directors voted unanimously for Professor Liu Baocun as the President of CESA in the new term. Professor Liu’s reappointment is of great significance to enhance China’s influence among the comparative education community in Asia even worldwide. It also contributes to strengthen education exchanges and cooperation between China and other Asian countries.
