2018 marks the fourth consecutive year for INEI Seed Funding, and as usual, this year INEI will fund two international research teams on their pioneering projects. Each team will be funded with USD5,000 for their research. The deadline for submission is Friday, August 17, 2018. The winners will be announced in Mid-September, 2018.

The criteria for proposals are as following:

1. Proposals for INEI Seed Funding should be no longer than 5 pages

2. The participants are Multi-National, more than one institute

3. There must be an option to include additional INEI member institutes in the testing phase

4. The proposers are exclusive to INEI member institutes

5. The proposals demonstrate sound research methodology

6. The proposals have to include costs and time schedule

7. The theme relevant to the mission of INEI

8. Additional funds must be sought nationally and/or internationally to leverage future research funds

Please note that funding recipients will be requested to present their preliminary research findings in the 2018 INEI Annual Symposium at Beijing Normal University. This year, BNU is kindly offering additional USD1,000 for each winning team to support their international travel to China. However, the number of INEI & BNU-funded presenters of each team will be limited to up to 2 people. Additional team members are welcomed and have to travel on their own expense.
