Three Academic Journals, Housed in Faculty of Education, are Included in A Guide to the Core Journals of China (7th Edition) Published:2015-09-15 15:55:46  Views:10         Released by the 2014 Editorial Board of A Guide to the Core Journals of China recently, three academic journals housed in the Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University (BNU), have been included in A Guide to the Core Journals of China (7th edition). The three journals are Comparative Education Review, Teacher Education Research and Journal of Educational Studies, which rank in the top ten in education.

Over the years, the three academic journals have been committed to following ethical guidelines for journal publication and implementing academic standards. They select papers only based on the academic quality of submitted manuscripts, striving to raise the overall quality of their publications. Widely acknowledged by the academia, they have been the source journals of the National Chinese Core Journals, Chinese Humanities and Social Science Core Journals, the Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI) and other major academic journal evaluation systems. The three academic journals will continue to deepen reform and create greater success in order to make greater contributions to BNU’s goals of building a world-class university and a world-class educational discipline.

Through quantitative and qualitative evaluation, A Guide to the Core Journals of China (7th edition), sponsored by Peking University, selected 1983 core journals from all publishing Chinese journals around the country. The quantitative methods of evaluation use 12 indices, such as total citations, citation frequency, non-self-citation frequency, impact factor, non-self-citing impact factor, ratio of funded papers, etc. Over 20 kinds of source databases and publications were used as statistical source of evaluation index, more than 6.5 billion papers were analyzed and over 14700 periodicals were involved in the evaluation process. More than 3700 experts on relevant subjects participated in the review of the core journals.  (Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University)
